Holding England Hostage

Yes its true! We have Held England Hostage!...Well, only the pictures-You see traveling with 2 kids meant we would need many months to recover! Only kidding, but life happens and, well, here we are.

In September of last year (2014) we embarked on a cross continent adventure! It was a spontaneous trip full of possibilities and one of that centered around Nathan's Grannie Margaret,  and his "homeland" of England! We thought we would roll the dice for a military free flight and with more prayer than luck, it all went amazingly smooth! We left from Maryland and flew into Germany and took a bullet train to Paris, where we stayed the night. From Paris we took another train to London! Wow what a small feat this first leg was! You see when you fly free through the military during the summer rush, you are merely a standby passenger. You may even get onboard and have the flight cancelled at the last minute, we learned that until that plane was mid air and ocean was beneath, don't get to comfortable!

So our journey began, we spent 24 hours in Baltimore in an attempt to get on a flight which worked on our 2nd attempt! Let us just say, we adore Baltimore it is a scenic city with so may things to do! We caught a movie, enjoyed a few great meals and loved being tourists!

Traveling with a bungeed car seat to an umbrella stroller with Sophi's seat attached as well- made us a bit slow but we maneuvered pretty well!

We enjoyed the trains!

We met some great and friendly people on the way, and managed to get a car ride and door to hotel delivery by these great French folks!

This was such a beautiful train Station!

Hello LONDON!

After the long journey we parked ourselves in Leatherhead while Nathan tracked down a car to rent :)

We arrived at Grannie Margaret's and Grandpa Roberts house mid afternoon- We didn't even cause a stir- as Nathan "whoo'ed" into the door- Margaret told cousin Alice, Nathan is here! We were still a surprise ha!
I was so impressed with Nathan remembering his town so well! HE drove like a pro, opposite side of the car and the road- I DID'NT drive ha ha!

The festivities and visitors began!

We enjoyed a nice walk into town and explored the shops and the awesome little cars...

Isn't the little butcher the sweetest!

We visited this beautiful Church and loved its Historical details!

Very Random- but I loved these "crisps"!

We enjoyed a fun day date to Bocketts Farm a place Nathan remembered well... in Surrey's countryside.

Yes every child must explore the boday in Grannies bathroom...

The men working away!

Cousin Josh rigging a device to keep Everli content...

Nathan's GORGEOUS Grannie Margaret

Music time

A beautiful Manor, converted to individual family flats! Oh how amazing the grounds were....We enjoyed Auntie Pearl and Uncle Del as well!

 Great Hair- courtesy of Sophi!

It is funny looking back at pictures, and asking, where is the picture of this, then realizing it is stored in my head :( Having little ones can make photographs less of priority for sure! But we captured what we could!

We spent our last 2 days in London, rain and more rain!  We were driven right into London by Grandpa Robert- maybe a 35 mile drive that took 2 hours!

We took in a quick trip to The Natural History Museum as well!

I really want to remember our last night in London...you see they have Strawberries in England that are magical- smaller than US modified giants. Sweet and truly pure flavor, with that said Sophi ate 2 pints by herself- Lets just say they didn't settle well and the nice crisp, white sheets and comforter didn't last in the room! It was quite funny and yet she still loves Strawberries!

We took a train up North to Mildenhall Air  Force Base to catch a flight - that fell through, after 2 nights we were able to fly into New Jersey! And our Summer had officially ended!

Such an amazing flight home- we enjoyed going down and watching them refuel fighters, what a beautiful view!

We were invited into the cockpit as well!

What a wonderful experience and time to enjoy family, hugs and laughs and memories that will always be in our hearts!
